TNS is a well-established performing arts program, and has a great set of scripts to offer its students to study. Not only do the students get a full two-week musical theatre immersive camp, but they also get to visit Oxford, Cambridge, London and even see a West End show. I was directing the youngest group in a production of The Lion King, and I was tasked to chaperone and guide the students to introduce them to British culture. My knowledge of musical theatre, and English culture and history was tested, and I found myself learning more about the UK by re-visiting such incredible places. The students came to England shy and nervous for the two-week intensive summer course, and left with new-found performance skills and confidence. This is a teacher's greatest gift.
